SOUL's presence in Washington, D.C. is a cornerstone of our influence. Through meticulously organized conferences, delegation programs, timely policy briefings, and strategic cultural diplomacy, SOUL has cultivated a credible and sustained voice in the U.S. capital. The 2021 Washington–Beirut Conference

The 2021 Washington–Beirut Conference marked a pivotal moment for Lebanese diaspora mobilization. Held simultaneously at the Grand Hyatt Washington, D.C., and the Padova Hotel, Sin El Fil, this three-day hybrid event brought together over 100 distinguished speakers. MPs, ministers, judges, activists, journalists, academics, and policy experts converged to address critical topics including regional conflicts & the Abraham Accords, UNSCR 1559, 1680, 1701, constitutional reform & judicial independence, corruption & financial collapse, human rights & women’s empowerment, and the Syrian refugee crisis. This conference underscored our commitment to fostering robust discussion and actionable solutions.

Policy advocacy and strategic analysis
SOUL provides strategic analysis on Lebanese political and security developments, briefings for congressional offices and committees, engagement with the U.S. State Department, USAID, and federal agencies. We coordinate with bipartisan think tanks and offer crisis communication and civil peace messaging. Our advocacy aligns with long-standing U.S. objectives: a stable, sovereign, democratic Lebanon capable of resisting foreign interference.
Washington Delegation Programs
SOUL organizes professional delegation programs designed to deepen understanding of U.S. institutions and strengthen Lebanese-American cooperation. These programs help Lebanese delegations engage effectively with U.S. policymakers and institutions through U.S. legislative process orientation, policy briefings, meetings with congressional staff, committee briefings, and visits to major think tanks.
The 2021 Washington–Beirut Conference
From June 23–25, 2021, SOUL organized a historic hybrid conference connecting Washington, D.C. and Beirut. This landmark event brought together U.S. and Lebanese policymakers, former MPs and ministers, judges, attorneys, constitutional experts, human rights advocates, journalists, academics, civil society leaders, diaspora organizations, and cultural figures. The conference addressed Lebanon’s existential crises and produced a unified reform agenda, leading to major outcomes such as the formation of the Lebanese American Coordinating Committee (LACC), a unified diaspora advocacy strategy, and a roadmap for reform and sovereignty.
