Shields of United Lebanon (SOUL)
SOUL – Shields of United Lebanon is a Lebanese‑American civic movement dedicated to defending Lebanon’s sovereignty, strengthening its democratic institutions, and supporting its people through political advocacy, humanitarian assistance, cultural engagement, and community‑building initiatives.
Our mission
Founded in the United States by members of the Lebanese diaspora, SOUL serves as a bridge between Lebanon and the world — carrying the nation’s voice to international platforms and reconnecting Lebanese communities at home and abroad. We work to build a sovereign, democratic, transparent, and united Lebanon that can reclaim its rightful place in the region and the world. Our mission includes: defending Lebanese sovereignty and constitutional order, supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces as the sole legitimate security institution, advocating for the implementation of UNSCR 1559, 1680, and 1701, and promoting justice and accountability.
Lobbying and advocacy
SOUL engages in principled, transparent, and fully compliant advocacy in the United States to advance Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, and democratic governance. Our work focuses on providing policy analysis, briefings, and strategic insights to U.S. lawmakers, federal agencies, and think tanks. We do not sell access, guarantee meetings, or engage in transactional lobbying. Instead, we promote a values‑based agenda centered on strengthening the Lebanese Armed Forces, supporting constitutional institutions, advancing justice for the Beirut Port Blast, and encouraging the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1559, 1680, and 1701. Through this approach, SOUL serves as a credible, non‑partisan partner for U.S. policymakers seeking to support a sovereign, stable, and democratic Lebanon.
What we do
We provide briefings and analysis to U.S. policymakers, collaborate with think tanks and academic institutions, and engage with the Lebanese diaspora to amplify their voices. Our key areas of focus include Lebanese sovereignty, implementation of UN resolutions, and justice for the Beirut Blast victims. We strive to empower individuals and communities to actively participate in the democratic process and defend Lebanon’s interests on the international stage.
